Well guys im still in search of a new bow. Ive been strictly a hoyt man for the last 7 years and ive loved every hoyt ive ever owned. But now im thinking about switching to a bow just totally off the wall thats not one of the big name brands. Ive been looking at the elites which i know are a growing company and they have solid products, how well do these bows and some of the other smaller companies bows shoot such as rytera. If anyone else has any other smaller companies bows that are worth checking out let me know.

Maitland, Athens, Strother, Winchester (yeah they have a bow out now) K&K Archery. Those are a few off the top of my head.

Maitland, New Breed Archery, Athens, Alpine, Quest.

I have a Maitland Retribution that will arrive soon. I've spoken with Rob (Maitland, the designer/owner/maker) on more than one occasion in my search for a bow, and he is top notch in the customer service department, patiently answering my multitude of questions.

His Retribution with the smooth cams are on par speed wise with Hoyts, and reportedly smoother, and his speed cams crank it up to 340fps IBO. I'm already saving up my money to get those at a later date.

If you have a short draw length (27" and under), then the New Breed Nemesis is apparently the best when it comes to retaining speed at those short draw lengths.

I bought a used Elite GT500 a few weeks ago, I've been shooting 3d league with it and can say I couldn't be happier. I belive they put out a good product, but so do all the other companies. I believe a lot more comes down to your components than your bow.
