Ok I have been on a quest to find a new bow, I have narrowed the search to these bows.

    Mathews Drenalin LD
    Bowtech Sentintel FLX
    Hoyt Maxxis 35
    Diamond Studd

Right now I am really liking the Diamond Studd for me. The FLX thing I am not a fan now that I have seen it in action. It humms more than a cheap hooker in vegas. BT IMO made a mistake in that desgin from a "feel" stand point. I will say for the center pivot bows I have shot, they shoot the best as feel goes. My issue with the center pivot bow is the work needed to shoot these bows from what I have been told. My buddy has a LH admiral which I LOVE to shoot, it's a great shooting bow. He was telling me how he has to take it a part and grease the limb pockets or it make a noise on the drawing cold. Do those center pivot bows need that much work?

I am shooting the Hoty this week Anybody shoot this bad boy yet?

The mathews was a great shooting bow, IMO the Diamond was a bit better and cost is way better.

Gary - Your buddies bow may have some dirt in the limb pocket, not sure how this is happening, but the center pivot bows should not need any more maintenance than any other bow on the market. Especially the 09's......they don't have any more moving parts than any other bow that I can think of. I question if your buddy somehow installed a limb pivot rocker thingy in the pocket incorrectly, that would cause some noise and I've seen it done before.

With that said, nothing wrong with the Stud. I plan to have one this year and I really think it's flying under the radar for a lot of people.

Interesting. I never noticed the FLX humming, but it has to vibrate like a SOB. It is just a linear spring. Are they supposed to be tightened down to the riser? The demo bow at the shop had one that was loose, and the guys at the shop had no idea if it was supposed to be that way or if it had rattled loose. They didn't touch it b/c they didn't want to mess with how it came from the factory. Ideas?

When I am looking at a bow I look at 3 things: speed, draw, and vibration. I evaluate these equally.

Any reason you didn't shoot the Reezen or Z7? I really liked the Reezen6.5 for the 3 reasons listed above. I did buy a different bow though.

I think my buddy bought the Stud, and he really likes it. His draw length is 3" too long for me so I didn't even try to shoot it.

This is a great question, I'm surprised I didn't see this one sooner.

Mine came from the factory the same way. I asked Corporate about this, and they said NOT to tighten it down any more. I haven't had a chance to clarify why not, but I'm assuming they are using this to adjust the deflection needed for different bows bows that may present different amounts of torque based on design/draw weight. I wasn't going to post about it until I heard more from Corporate about exactly why this wasn't to be tightened down, but now I'll make sure to ask. Most of the guys are at the ATA now and I'm sure it's a zoo today, so I'll try to get more info on this sometime early next week.

    Another thought.............just thinking out loud.

I've heard differing opinions on the amount of vibration this FLX guard is producing on the shot. In 100% honesty, mine bow has no more vibration than my Allegiance. I have not adjusted or tightened down that FLX guard though. I wonder if the guys feeling this "buzz" have messed with the FLX guard adjustments, or if this is something that can be tune with this?

Sorry to hijack your thread Germ. :D

It's not the Vibration it's the fact I "think" I can see it and I am looking for it. It's a mental thing.

As for feel the Bowtech with the center pivot cannot be touched IMO. My buddy has the admiral without the FLX. I may try and buy one of those.

eh, Germ is used to me hijacking his threads. :)

I was thinking about buying an '09 bow also since I figured that they really wouldn't be all that different and it could save some coin, but I couldn't find any. Of course, I don't have very many decent options around here that I am aware of.

Gary I just returned from the ATA and got to shoot a lot of bows and I must say the best bow I shot was the Elite Judge and will be in my hand come this season.. You might want to give it a try!! Smooth fast and 0 vibration!!Walt

I shot the Diamond Studd and Iceman today, both were great IMO. Will Elite make the Judge LH?

IceMan was 100 dollars off 2009 model.

    Iceman is out

I have to go shoot the hoyts this week, but I am really liking the Stud right now. I just do not like binary cam bows, the valley is way to narrow for me.

I may get a mathews again also, going to shoot a couple this week. The Diamond is 549.00 dollars. That is a good price!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Have you tried shooting the marquis? I just got it and love it. I ordered mine off of ebay for $420 shipped to my door. The only problem was that there was no stabaliser insert but had that shipped in from my local proshop. It's a little faster than the stud and I would bet that it would be just as smooth.
