I wanted to start deer hunting and im the kind of person that likes a challenge and taking one out with a bow sounds like it will be a rush. So I ask my grandpa if he had a spare bow I could try out and he gave me a McPherson Compound and told me to keep it. He said him and my uncle have got many deer with it. So far I've been able to get out and shot three times and I'm really starting to get a feel for it.

I shot today and I think I did pretty well as shown above in the pic. Can't wait to put a deer at the end of one of those arrows.

Names Troy, I'm 27 from a little town west of KC Kansas.

Just got my Kansas Archery tag for units 9 and 10. Any thoughts on the best areas to hunt with in those units?

I lived in Lawrence for a little while "ROCK CHALK" what little town are you from? My little brother live outside of Bonner Springs, but he's a big waterfowl hunted and doesn't have much time to hunt anything else. nice to meet you and welcome to the site.

Best to ask this in a new thread in the Bowhunting or Whitetail section of the forums.
