Guys i need your expertise. I won a Triax at a banquet and i am thinking about a new set up way different than Halon 32. Keep in mind the Triax is going to be used for 3d and hutning. 95% of my hunting will be done from a tree stand or blind. Need to hear the good and bad about the vapor trail pro V rest? I have always used QAD drop rest but wanted to see about the limb reliant rest instead of the bus cable. Next i have 3 sights in mind all single pin. I have used these in the past but the past couple years used a 5 pin. HHA single pin with a wheel dial on it Spot Hogg Fast eddie with possible double pin Tru Glow Rove pro sight that you need to turn on for a red dot I have used HHA in the past with the slide and it was alright. I think the wheel would make it a better experience. The Tru Glow seems pretty cool but unsure of how it will perform over time. Any suggestions are welcome! Thank you
The Pro V functioned fine when I used one. I just do not care for the arrow raising and dropping on draw cycles and let downs. So, I would stick with the QAD, so nice to cock the launcher and go. As for the sight, first go look at yourself in the mirror and then ask your firends... "Am I man enough to shoot a big boy sight like the Fast Eddie?" If the answer is yes, you are one of the chosen ones who earned the right to own and shoot the Spot Hogg. If the answer is no, go pick one of those kids sights. Good day Sir.
I got a good chuckle out of that.. thank you for your answer and i didn't even give the thought of letting down on a shot..
I would like to see QAD make a cockable limb driven drop away rest. G5 made one, but had far to many failures.
All I run is Pro V these days. I was skeptical at first with the cord being strung up to the limb but its never caused an issue and Id be willing to bet I drag my equipment through thicker stuff that 99% of guys. Being around the bow shop fairly frequent, I've seen my fair share of QAD failures.
I'm running the pro v on my triax I like it so far. Haven't really put it through the paces too much yet. Sent from my Pixel 2 using Bowhunting.com Forums mobile app
for 2-3 years I ran a TT Smackdown (limb driven) rest on my elk bow and and QAD Ultrarest on my whitetail bow. I liked the Smackdown a lot; and it was a tad bit more accurate at extreme distance- but honestly it was a major drawback in a hunting bow. I snagged that cord way more often (as in frequently) walking in and out of the woods than I do with my QAD cable-actuated rest (as in never) - so much so that I swapped the Smackdown for another QAD and haven't looked back. still waiting for my Fast Eddy...............
@Jsbass seemingly joined this forum just to dislike my comment. He’s clearly been triggered. Be careful everyone there’s a fairy on the loose.
I am not a fast eddy fan at all. That said it’s the best of your three choices. I vacillate back-and-forth between limb driven rests and cable actuated rests and Keep coming back to a QAD. I have used both versions of limb driver as well as both models of the Hamskea. Over all I have had better results and less issues with the QAD and right now have it on all three of my rigs.
