    hello i am new to bowhunting and have a few questions about my bow..i dont have a lot of friends around me that bow hunt so i need some tips..i was wondering how often i need to change my strings and some tips on how to keep my bow in good shape from year to year cause as u all know bows are expensive!..thank you!

    I think that changing your string depends on how often you shoot your bow. I usually wax my string after about every 30 shots or so. Just make sure that you keep it waxed good so it doesn't start to fray. Also after putting the wax on your string use your finger/thumb to rub the wax into the string. This warms the wax up and makes it work a little better.

    Good advice... just remember if you wax your strings that often to make sure extra wax not absorbed by the string doesn't build up. I take a paper (the shiny type for a magazine) and rub on there it to remove any buildup.

    I like the wax the string then take a blow dryer on low heat and it melts the wax into the string for you.
