They look cool. I have never shot a Bear bow but I really like their price points. Which one will you be getting?
Not sure yet. It will be my first bow. I dont know if i will be building one or buying one of thier ready to huntmodels.
Why do you want a Bear bow? Have you tried any others. Don't go into it determined to get a Bear. Try some options.
I don't know what price point you are looking at but if you are looking at lower end range If I was you I would defiantly shoot the Martin Carbon featherweight and see how it feels. Like 499 for bare bow with good specs and carbon crazy
Not even 10 posts into the thread and the subject has already been perverted. To answer the question, both of the top two new bows look really nice to me. I like the new riser designs better than the last couple year's offerings. If I were in the market I would probably go for the new single cam model. I forgot the name but it's specs and price are pretty good for a 60 pound bow. Sent from my VS500 using Bowhunting.com Forums mobile app
Sorry didn't mean to sway the convo away too much. I have not shot any of them so I can not say much about them Except for 449 the approach looks nice 32 axel to axel 55-70 lbs peaking at 340fps I like the look of the riser The kuma doesn't look half bad either but at 899 I would be hard pressed to spend a little bit more money and shoot some other bows as well unless of course I shot it and fell in love. What bow were you looking at? I would be interested in feedback after you shoot it.
Am I the only one who thinks that Badlands camo pattern looks like a cheetah print? I like the Iron finish but I'm not crazy about that camo. Bear has really stepped up their game the last few years. The new Legend series will be dealer only so it looks like they're stepping up to compete with Mathews, Hoyt, Elite, Bowtech, Obsession, etc etc.
They also added a couple new bows to the traditional line. Sent from my VS500 using Bowhunting.com Forums mobile app
I'm on board and agree fully with Justin on the Badlands camo. The Sole Intent looks like an awesome bow but that camo pattern is atrocious!
I'm still using a Bear Charge RTH that I bought about 5 years ago when I was trying to stay within a budget and it's been very kind to me. I've killed 2 deer with it and I'm using it again this year. Bear has really stepped up their game and are definitely a bow to consider in my opinion.
Nothing interesting in them that I see. The camo...I don't care for at all. The brace heights are atrocious and they didn't even gain very respectable speed by using a short brace height. Personally I wouldn't want a brace height under 6-3/4" and that's pushing it. At least most of the shorter BH bows trade the forgiveness of a better BH for really high speeds.
I shot bear bows for the longest time but just recently made the switch to Mathews. For the price, you pay they are really good bows and are what I recommend to people just starting out. My lady is set up with a Bear Archery Prowess right now and she loves it.
I got my first bow when I was 8. It was a 24 lb. Bear recurve, and I've hunted with them for most of my fifty plus years slinging sticks. They went through a period a while back, where they kinda put quantity before quality so I simply shot Mathews and Bowtech during this time. Then they finally got their quality back and I shot them till I was forced to go to the Xbox. I still own my Bear Attack which is perhaps the best bow I ever stretched a string on even though I'll never be able to again use it. It's my regret I can't try this one. And yes the cameo pattern is butt ugly but it's nothing a good dip job can't fix. Keep us posted. Good luck
345 fps ibo speed from a 6 inch brace hight bow. Nope, nothing respectable about that at all. Now, what bow am I talking about? The Mathews Halon 6 or the Kuma. Spec lists are nearly identical between the two of them. Sent from my VS500 using Bowhunting.com Forums mobile app
