rule of thumb is to not buy a untried pair of shoes/boots online. that being said if you like them i would suggest finding some place local and trying them on. Converse also makes boots, mostly tactical for military/police/rescue use but they work good as hunting boots as well.

I have always been a fan of New balance sneakers b/c they make wider widths. This is the first time I have ever seen the hikers though.

I agree with you srtiek, best idea is to go to a local store and try on a pair, however there is never any harm in looking online and getting an idea of what you like; sizes, colors, etc. I wear new balance tennis shoes on a daily basis, but I have never looked into their hiking shoes. I will have to check it out :tu:

I think I'm going to be one of those annoying people who check something out in a store and then buy cheaper online!

    LOL.

Please do not wast your money on Danner brand military hiking boots. You will have bought the very worst boots you've ever worn. It's funny that they advertise these as being "military tactical" so to the civilian population it seems "cool" but the army buys from the lowest bidder. Not one person I have met (and we all have worn these) like them. They are true pieces of garbage. I feel sorry for the tax payer who invested in these and the soldiers who were issued them. Complete crap!:tu:
