Finished my new backstop for an archery range area this weekend. Turned out pretty good, thought I'd share. Cost was $120 & took me 1/2 day to build. Although, I put the posts in the ground the day before. The inspiration/idea came from some pics I had seen online. Definitely, not the eye sore of a sheet of plywood against a tree, or like I had a couple years ago, an old door..lol. I do have plans to suspend the block. A bag suspends nicely, I have to put some small eye rings in the corners of the block to suspend it. Using a block right now as we've been practicing with broadheads. Less than two weeks till opening day!! Anyways, thought some of you guys might like this idea so, thought I'd share.....
Thanks..! The construction is 4 x 4 pressure treated posts. The backstop is a stall mat from Tractor supply 4ft by 6ft ($40)
Looks similar to mine. We used two sheets of the backstop material to make it wider. Have thrown everything we can at it, really tough, nothing made it through even when we tried to hit it!
