Based on a 14 team division this is what they will look like in 2014 when Rutgers and Maryland officially join... Leaders division-Indiana, Maryland, Michigan, Ohio State, Penn State, Purdue and Rutgers. Legends Division- Illinois, Iowa, Michigan State, Minnesota, Nebraska, Northwestern and Wisconsin. Leaders>>>>>>>>>Legends
This will be stupid if it happens. You must have the possibility of Michigan and OSU playing in the championship. I don't know how the powers that be could ignore this. Otherwise, you will always have a school playing the B1G championship that isn't a national draw. No way you can take the only three schools that people actually care about in their respective states, and put them in the same division. And we all know this is about money, so it would be moronic if this happens.
Sure for you and me... All the other fans across the country not so much... Look at all the crying about the Bama LSU rematch. Same deal and that wasn't even back to back games.
I kind of see that point. Thats a little different as votes are a big part of who plays in the MNC game. This is an automatic bid situation. With that said, the 2006 UM/OSU game was one of the highest rated regular season games in college football history. Many fans, even outside of the B1G wanted to see them have a rematch. It was the coaches and conferences that did not. The Alabama/LSU game last year was so incredibly boring, that no wanted to see them play again. If their first game was exciting, I guarantee there would have been a lot less people against the rematch.
C'mon...do that thing were you pretend Wisconsin football is relevant to someone outside of Wisconsin. Please?
How are you going to show up in this thread and not have any comments? You should be slap *** happy with your division, little competition to get to the conference championship game.
Pretty much a walk to the conference championship game every year. Nebraska might provide some resistance, but thats it.
Come on State has some nice seasons, especially the past few years, just ask Michigan... Oh wait, nevermind... you were there.
I don't think you can expect more of that from State in the future. They had the perfect storm of a number of players that weren't highly recruited, who developed into very good players. You can keep producing that type of success at State. Its one of those things that turn into a 1 or 2 good seasons every once and a while. I give it three years before Dantonio moves on or is fired.
Perhaps you should give some credit for their ability to develop the kids they recruit? Dantonio is a solid coach, they would be foolish to fire him. They are on their game for some great 2014 prospects especially at the QB position. They were in every game they lost this year (I think, not looking it up to be sure). I know a loss is a loss and I do not believe in moral victory's but they are a decent team.
