I am in the need of some new arrows. I am sticking with gold tips because I can get a sweet deal on them. But here's my dilemma. I am shooting a new PSE Bow Madness at 70# and 29". I have been shooting a 7595 out of them with a 75 grn rocket broadhead. But a lack of arrow penetration is wanting me to switch to 100 grn broadhead either a fixed style or the new bloodrunner 2 blade. I haven't decided witch one just yet. Can I or should I be shooting a 7595 or should I switch down to a 5575 with the heavier heads??? I am new to the fixed blade so I am worried about arrow flight. Any help would be great. The gt arrow chart is on the border for my bow so any input would be appreciated. Thanks

At that DL and DW, you NEED the 7595's, dropping down would give you a WEAK shaft, and have a NEGATIVE effect on penetration. For optimal set-up, get a .340 spine arrow, not the LIGHTEST one you can find either, and put a 125gr tip on it, cut that arrow to 28.5-29" and you'll have a WELL SPINED arrow with good FOC (Front of Center). With your current set-up, you have below 10% on FOC, put a 125gr tip on there, and you'll balance out the spine, AND increase your FOC to around 14%, which is going to bode better for penetration, and tuning as far as that goes. Think of arrows as if they were DARTS, now think of a LOW FOC arrow being like the PLASTIC darts for electronic dart boards, then arrows with HIGHER FOC being like REAL darts with brass tips..... 'Nuff Said!!!

Good Luck with it, set it up right, and you'll enjoy shooting it more in the end.....:tu:

thanks for the help. i will definitely stick with the 7595 then. I have always shot them, but one of my buddies has been shooting the 5575 out of his new diamond at the same setup. he uses 75 grn rockets. i just havent had any luck with penetration and if you see my last posts i think it cost me a giant! would 100 grn be ok with the longer arrow and some brass inserts??
