I currently have a whisker biscuit on my bow, im thinking about switching to something else that might speed up my bow, but i do like the full capture. I am not sure that I want to go to a drop away rest, what do you guys use, also if you use a drop away why do you like it?
Take a look at the NAP 360 arrow rest. It is a full capture arrow rest with out having your arrow sitting on or vanes passing through bristles. Also, there are no moving parts that could fail like on a drop away rest.
For that a full capture non dropaway the NAP is a good choice. I prefer a dropaway and I don't think you can do any better than a VaporTrail Limb Driver. Either the original or the New Full Capture model. My 2nd choice would be a Ripcord Code Red. Dan
The code red has been a great rest on my Quest. I have a Hostage Pro on my Ross Cardiac. It has also been a great rest. My preference? The CodeRed.
You realize your not going to gain THAT much going away from a WB right? If the only purpose to change rests is to speed up your bow, don't bother. Good luck.
really? that is the only reason I am thinking about changing the rest, I am happy with the wb, how much speed are we talking?
My guess... <5 fps. I did the switch from the WB to a fall away and I could hardly notice speed wise. The WB is a fine rest so don't switch just due to speed because you will be disappointed I think. If you have other reasons you don't like the WB then go for it. Take at look at the NAP Apache if you decide to go fall away. They are being spoke very highly of. This will be my next rest. This is what I currently shoot. It is good rest as well but double the money as the Apache.
With a proper size WB (hole bigger than arrow) you only lose 1 or 2 fps. If you are shooting 5" feathers/vanes with an out of tune bow you may see a slightly larger speed gain. To change just for speed I think it is not worth it. I have used 3 different drop-aways...I went back to the WB. For me, they are just as accurate. But I only shoot out to 60 yards. http://forums.mathewsinc.com/archery-4/technical-faq-28/whisker-biscuit-and-arrow-velocity-55396/
if u only want speed keep the wb they are awesome and cant fail! i use a ripcord because i felt i needed it which i didnt haha If u do get a drop away check out ripcord
I shoot the QAD HD Ultra. The reason is that I can let down and still have the arrow locked in the rest. I missed chances on a couple of animals with the Ripcord due to the arrow falling off as I let down waiting for a better shot.. QAD only now for me
I've been hearing some really good things about the new Limbdriver Pro-V. I have one on order to try out. Should be pretty good.
The only problem that I had with the QAD was that after a while, it stayed in the UP position and you couldn't get in the cylinder to see what the problem was. Same thing happened on two of my friend's, I don't like the internal parts.
