Does anyone have any recommendations for a new carbon arrow? I'm looking to upgrade for next season. Thanks!

whats your current set up? Like draw weight and length, and what do you plan on shooting with it?

Good questions. I'm at 29" and 63# and I plan on hunting whitetail with this setup.

340-400 Spine arrow depending on what size of broadhead size you use.

You are hunting some bigger PA whitetails so I would hunt with a bit of a heavier arrow such as Easton Full Metal Jacket, Carbon Express Pile Drivers, or Gold Tip traditional arrows. All of those are about 10.5-11.5 gpi.

You don't have to get the heavier arrows, just my personal preference.

if i were you id buy some carbon express pile drivers, mayhems or maxima reds they will all work great for your setup on any whitetail anywhere i like the mayhems ive tested all 3 and on video the mayhems have more penetration then the reds but the reds fly very straight and accurate out longer distances the piledrivers are alittle to heavy of an arrow for me but those things do what they say piledrive lol i think every deer ive ever shot with one was a pass thru they are heavy hard hitting arrows but there great also i hunt with mayhems and shoot 3d or tournys with the reds.

Personally I didn't like the mayhems, but heavier is better in my opinion. Those are good arrow recommendations!

Maxima Reds. A little pricey but they fly great and are very durable

    Easton Axis 9.5 GPI 340s
I like these but will be looking into FMJ for the fall.
The axis have been a good, common arrow that flys well.

Good Luck .. there are a lot of great arrows to choose from..

    ^what he said^

I shot Easton Axis 9.5 GPI 340s for a couple of years and I loved them. Then I tried the FMJs and I have been HOOKED every since. FMJs hit like a Brick and I have had a pass through on every deer I have killed with them. The new FMJs for 2014 don't come in Lost Camo, but they do make them in Deep Six now. I don't have to have the new ones, the older ones work like a champ for me.

Thanks guys. I had sort of narrowed it down to FMJ or the maxima reds. I'm leaning toward the FMJs after hearing everyone's reviews.

You had me at "Hit Like a Brick" HaHaHahahaha...... I am sure of my decision now and when it is time to get new arrows...definitly before the fall, I will be changing to the FMJ style. I wish I had these on my bow the last time I went out... may have made the difference... may not have but hind sight is always 20/20. Thanks

FMJs are the best of both worlds.(Aluminum strength and Carbon penetration power). Easton really used their heads when they designed this arrow. They are darn near indestructible! I have only damaged 3 in the 3 years I have been using them. One was on a shot on a doe. It blew through both lungs and hit a big rock in the ground. It snapped the head off at the tip of the arrow and misshaped the end of the arrow. The second one was damaged when I was shooting at range and it went through the Block Target and lodged in the 2x4s behind it. The third one was damaged when I had my first Robin Hood. Trust me when I say, you will NOT be disappointed with FMJs.

O Yeah!!!! I am Loving This! I have been working on uping my game and anything to improve is worth a shot. I am at 310FPS with the Axis and hope to get 80# limbs on my bow sometime before the next hunt. I think there will be some changes in my setup with speed and accuracy if I make the adjustments in arrows and limbs. Right now I feel dialed in but like any man... I want more. Thanks again.

FMJ it is. I'll be sure to report back once I get some practice in with them.
