Gunmaker invents chilling double-barrel handgun How convenient! Someone has finally invented a weapon that combines the killing power of a double-barreled shotgun with the portability of a handgun. After a decade of development, Arsenal Firearms is turning out a double-barreled .45 caliber, semi-automatic handgun that allows you to shoot two bullets at the same time, Gizmodo reports. The new gun, which can be ordered with one trigger or two, can hit a target the size of an orange 15 yards away and has the power to knock down a bull. As the James Bond-style villain breathlessly says in the over-the-top demo video, "That's performance." Would you buy this gun?
I would only have this as a collection piece not as a viable self defense arm. Would have to be in single trigger as I see. No way to fire only 1 barrel at a time. This appears to be double barrel fire mode. I would fear a catastrophic malfunction with a squib load. Appears that it would take 2-3 times as long to clear a jam.
Twice as likely to have a feed malfunction or to stove pipe. Has to be a pain to take the slide off. Heavy. Bulky. Can't really see it being anything more than a collector gun as mentioned above.
So some goofball welded two .45s together essentially... I do realize there is more to it than that. It's a conversation / collectors piece at best. I would rather have two .45s. Just saying... :P
