I am ninety-nine percent sure I will be switching to the Apache fall away rest. The price and everybodys current reviews are swaying me that way. I like my whisker bisquit accept for how loud it can be when the woods are calm. What are some of your opinions on this rest?

My next move I'm thinking about is switching to a fixed pin sight. I'm looking at the new viper sight with micro adjust. Are viper sights a solid product? I haven't heard much about them, but I really like the look and construction of them. I am wanting to switch for a few reasons. Main reason is that ever since I got the vital gear sight I have just felt like it is very vulnerable to breaking. It just doesn't seem solid to me. Everytime I bump it I feel the need to have to shoot the bow just to make sure nothing moved. The other reason is more simple. It doesn't have a light. My sight before that had a light and I even used it to harvest my first doe last year. You might not ever need it, but if you do it really pays off.

These are my current bow hunting thoughts today. Who knows what tomorrow will bring. Thanks for they knowledge guys!!!

IMO you can't lose with the Apache rest. I beat the crap out of mine this year and it held up beautifully. I'll be getting a new bow for this year, and it will also have an Apache on it.

As for sights, I personally like the Axcel Armortech line the best. IMO they have the best mechanism for protecting the pins. I've been using this sight the past 2 years with no broken pins, which is more than I can say for the 3 sights I had before this one. The tool-less microadjust is also great, and they're built to be rock solid. IMO they're one of the best hunting sights out there.

Personally I'm not a huge fan of the Viper sights with the clear tube running down the length of the sight that houses the fibers. I feel like it's just waiting to get snagged on a branch and torn off.

Thanks for the the information Justin. I am on the Axcel websight now checking them out. Do you sell them in the store? I couldn't find them anywhere.

Looking good, I am eyeballing the 5 pin .019 model. How would you go about getting the light attachment? Does it come with it, or would you have to order it separately?

They are worth the extra moola my friend. JZ sold me on the Armortech after my G5 broke this season. I'll be using the Armortech for a very long time. Fully protected fiber optics. What other sight offers that?

I think I'm sold too!!! The apache and armortech sight will be on the way soon. Hopefully they will allow me to harvest my first turkey with a bow this spring.

Do you know if the sight comes with the light attachment or if it has to be purchased separately. If separately, can I get it from the bowhunting.com store. Thanks Cody

I think its a good upgrade man. I had to biscuit for 3yrs and I love its simplicity but switched to to QAD fall away after turkey season and love it. I also got went from a cheapo worn out tru glo to a blackgold redzone sight and man that site is built like a tank. The pin brightness is 2nd to none IMO. Im ready to put them to the test w/ some spring turkeys too. I think you'll be glad you made those upgrades, I know I am. Hope you enjoy your new purchases!

The light has to be ordered separately, but we don't stock it. Honestly, I'd save your money. I've never had a problem seeing my pins up until legal shooting light is over. I've owned 3 different sights with lights on them and never used them even once in a hunting situation.

Thanks Justin. I am very excited to make these changes and am looking foward to the new setup. I thought the light might make a difference as it did with my old apex sight, but of course that was of a little lesser quality. The good part is I can always add it if I need it.

P.S. Are there anymore bowhunt or die videos coming this season? They are great to watch and learn from at the same time.

We have one more episode coming and then we're done for this season. Dan and JM both killed does on film the past couple weeks, and Todd's had a ton of encounters with some really good deer just not in range. It will probably be up sometime next week.

Looking forward to a potential hog hunt in March where we can test out some new bows and broadheads.

I have the apache on my SR-71 and like it, but need to change my rest since my bow has a 6" BH and I'm getting some slight cable contact on the rest. I did hunt with the rest and worked well on my spot and stalk muly hunt.

You can't go wrong with the armortech sight. I bought one this year and have no plans on changing it.

Thats sweet!!! I'm thinking your gonna love the new Z7 Extreme. What more could you ask for, its light, draws easy, is super quiet, and is fast all at the same time. Are you thinking about switching from the Nitron or just trying some new broadheads on some hogs?
