Got the new React sight for my back up bow Mission Ballistic. First thing I noticed was the weight of the sight wow was it lite it uses the ballistic polymer and its got that duratouch feel to it feels nice and strong and is super lite which is nice . Its completely toolless which is great every adjustment is done by turining knobs the pins are super bright and it comes with a built in Rhestat light built right in to the front side of the housing which is nice cause its in a great easy spot to get to and turn on if you need too. The sight has windage elevation adjustments with the 3rd axis and its all tooless you can reverse mount it for high or low mounting and the sight aperture is big very nice to look thru the outer ring picks up light and glows real nice. Now for the smart pins all I had to do was sight in the 20yd pin using the wind and elevation knobs to get that pin set from then on you can use the micro adjustment knob to fine tune all you have to do is set two pins and your other pins are set from 20-60yds due to the smart pin setup when you set your 20 they say you can then go to 30yd and set that but going to 40 yds fine tunes it even more and thats how my Trijicon worked aswell. I had the 20 on the money fine tuned the 40 and the rest of the pins were set took me 10 arrows and i was dialed in. The way it works is the smart pin does the math so when you move the lets say 30 pin u can hardly see it adjust but the 60 pin you can really see move it does the gapping for you its freaking nice.... I am a single pin guy but I have to say i didnt want to go single pin on my second bow cause sometimes pins can work in your favor especially for those spots that you dont have time to adjust your sight this is the best pin sight I have used hands down.... Here are some pics
That is the site I will be putting on my Mathews this spring! Cant wait! Sent from my DROID X2 using Tapatalk 2
I was looking into these, but wasn't sure if it'd fit on my bow. Being it is older an what not. Great to know they actually work as advertised!
There mounting system fits tons of bows they have multiple holes for different mounting setups I think it would work...
Ill have to start lookin into em more then, that was just my biggest worry that it wouldn't fit bein it's so old.
I got a new trophy ridge sight but I went with the cypher. These are very good sights. The pins are extremely clear, the light position is great, the ring is clear in low light levels, the quality is top notch. I went with the cypher because I was unsure of the smart pin tech vs. weight vs. cost. The cypher felt much lighter. Also I was able to use the ridges on the plastic to set the other pins. It's not near as smart but it works. If you're on the fence about this site, look into the cypher. However, this is a good review and top notch sight.
Bows have used the same size and spacing for the mounting holes since before I was born, so you should be okay. :D As for the React sight - I really do like the concept behind it but I can't believe they didn't use fully armored/enclosed fibers for the pins. The fiber optics are exposed on the back side of the pin, which I hate. It never fails they get caught up in some brush and break, and then you're either hunting with busted pins or having a heck of a time trying to replace them. With armored pin technology having been on the market for a few years now it blows my mind how any sight company can produce a high end product like this and not have their fibers better protected. It's like building a BMW with manual windows. For now I'll stick with either an Axcel or a Spot Hogg on my Chill.
I have the cypher 5, and would agree its a great shooting sight, however I find it heavy, I shoot a crx32 and between that sight and apache stab and apache rest my bow feels pretty heavy now. As much as I like the shootability of my set up I think I'm gonna start over with accessories.
I have to say the open fiber is a good catch I mean I like how they house the fiber optics and the light position but I do understand your point on brush I mean it would be an extreme circumstance but still when your paying $150 I nderstand what your saying. On the weight I really thought the basllistic polymer is one of the lightest materials and I think the react is a lite weight sight compared to alot on the market its a beefy sight. I dont have the exact weight of it I have to weigh it but it was lighter then my Trijicon..lol all in all I think its a great sight for the money, your getting a nice quality sight with smart pin tech for under $175 which is nice most sight in this class are costing $200 range..
Just started shooting my Ballistic and wow is it fast 304 FPS on a 27 draw not bad the react sight impresses me more and more its a nice sight man almost makes me want to go back to pins..lol
I just bought this sight Saturday. Put it on, sighted it in. 15 minutes. Saw the ads for it and thought, "ain't no way", "too good to be true". So I bought it to try it, fully expecting to take it back because I love my G5 Optix XR. Nope, not even close. Sight blew me away with the accuracy. The pins are so bright too, I'm fully impressed with the sight and would encourage anyone to get it. Unless you want to buy a slightly used but still in perfect condition G5 Optix XR cause I now have one of those for sale, lol.
I can give you a great idea of how good this site is.....I bought my first bow ever right after Christmas and the guy at the pro shop talked me into setting it up with the TR React site...I was skeptical because of the price but man was it worth it....I got my bow home and keep in mind my shooting experience consisted of probably 10 shots from a compound in my life and that was when I was in high school. (I'm 36 now) I watched the informational DVD that came with it and looked at a few youtube videos before giving it a go. I started out at 20 yrds and had that pin dialed in to where I could shoot 3 arrow groups at 2-3" within 10 arrows (I did get a good old rookie string slap on the forearm the first 2 shots :-( Anyway, my father in law who has shot bows for quite some time was amazed at the accuracy I was getting after 10 shots.....Moved back to 40 because several said if you could dial in the 40 it would really make the 30 dead on and the 50, and 60 will be good as well.....I was skeptical until I buried 3 arrows in a 3" group at 40 after shooting just 4 arrows to adjust site....Still skeptical, I decided to shoot at 50 and 60.....Lined up the pin and let her rip.....Both shots within 3" from bulls eye. My father in law could not believe it and went and picked him up one....Many of the guys I am shooting with have been bow hunting all over the country for every animal that walks and they all love the looks of the site and can't believe how bright the pins are. To sum it up it is the best $150 on my bow. I think this site really shortened my learning curve into bow hunting. Now learning all the angles needed to shoot the right location on an animal depending on how they're standing. I have fallen in love with archery and can't wait to hog hunt in the next few weeks....Buy the React and don't look back!!
Yeah the React is a nice site they did a great job on the site I have no big complaints on it I have been using this site for a while its on my backup bow as I use a Axcel HD on my Creed but the react has brighter pins only things is thing is the open fibers u have to watch out for brush possibly hitting it and damaging it and the othe is the ballistic polymer it cracks man the site will break if it takes a hit especially around the housing where the polymer is thin, my buddy dropped his bow and it cracked the housing.. But all in all for $150 best sight in the market
