Surely everyone can agree (yea right!) that this law is not about the friendly text message to your buddies.

Consider this situation. Electronics devies cannot be used under the law, but you use your binocs to see you hunting buddy giving you hand signals to tell you the whereabouts of a deer.

Ethical or not? FAIR CHASE or not?

I text to tell my lady to let her know I'm alive. I hunt 1.5 hrs away and usually alone so she worries. She likes to know that her stallion is still able to function!

You want to text, text. I don't care. If you don't want to text, don't text. I don't care. If you want to surf the net, surf the net, I don't care. If want to call your girlfriend (or boyfriend) while on stand, I don't care.

And I sure as hell ain't going to worry about if I "get" it or not.

I'm in my treestand doing what I love and you don't bother me in the least. :p

Speaking of "jumping to conclusions" where did anyone admit to breaking a game law? All I've seen is people saying they are talking (texting) about what they see. I've spoken with game wardens about the exact law being discussed and it was designed and written so that when guys are driving deer with radios one guy can't say to another "Turn around they're running behind you." That is an unfair advantage afforded by electronic devices.

In Alaska "communications equipment may be used for safety; they may not be used to aid in taking of game." It's a mute point though since you can't hear me now and there are less bars in more places here.

I don't text much as my phone is not real user friendly with my fat fingers ( not even close to as fat as Dink's though ). I cheat and send Quick texts that are made up a head of time. Hi loser, You hunting ??, Nanny down or Big buck down ( haven't got to use the last one yet ). Plus some of the spots I get in... the deer can pop up at any second within yards of you before you see them. Not a good time to be texting !!
