I am curious, I had a pretty fruitful bow and gun season this year, well gun season is ALWAYS fruitful. Anyway, in the bow stand all year I only had chances at does, I passed a few, took one for meat and then hunted clear up to gun season. Gun season rolls around, in two weekends 9 bucks down, one doe out of our 10 person group! we barely saw a doe, and this is country that you could see 20 to 40 deer a day! Anyone else have anything similar or was this just a fluke in my neighborhood!?
We killed 3 does out of the 4 deer we killed. We only saw 2 bucks, one that my son killed and a 9pt on a drive Sunday afternoon. I didn't shoot because we were after a particular buck and I could hear more deer running behind him in the brush. The rest were does. So goes my luck.
too bad, I was after a particular buck this gun season too. The property we hunt is amazing, and there is one bad boy running around. I had a chance at him last year while I was searching for some blood, but I left my gun on the fence because I crossed into a property I dont have permission on! We saw him twice this year, and he has even more mass! what I wouldnt give for a chance! next year! or maybe even with the bow late season we usually take like 8 or 10 does and a couple good bucks, this year the shed sure looks different full of antlers!
