Neti Pot?

My sinuses have been killing me for a week. Anyone tried a Neti Pot?

 

I use the squirt bottle when i get a cold to keep my sinuses flushed. It works awesome.

Good way to get a nasty sinus infection also...

 

Really, my doctor recommended them to prevent sinus infections.

I heard of two deaths via neti pot when people had amoebas in their water. Having a bunch of amoebas eating your brain doesn't sound like much fun and it certainly is not a valiant death. "What happened to buttonbuckmaster?" "Ah, the amoebas got him."

So my only advice is to use good water.

 

My brother has terrible sinus and allergy issues... He has used them for years and has gotten some pretty good relief - least that's what he has told me...

 

I use one a lot...make sure you boil the water first, making sure you kill all bacteria.

 

I thought you were supposed to use saline???

No...hot water and a salt mix, you can but the packets of salt. So i guess its a make your own saline solution?

 

It's a saline solution mix with basically baking soda and salt mixed with warm water.

 

My buddy swears by them. I bought the squeeze bottle type. Never really did much for me. I think it would work better if I plugged it up my butt.. And yes... it uses saline packets.
