ok this is new area im gonna hunt....owner is willing to let me...he only gun hunts on it...no one has ever bow hunted it..i dont know too much about it yet im goin this weekend to walk thru area and possibly hang a stand...just wanting your opinions on placement i guess with what little info i can give u...what i do know is that there is a stream/creek that runs thru the back half of the wooded area how far or wide or deep i do not know...also the deer come out afternoon/evening hours. they are coming out of the woods just south of the path leading in...obviously hard to judge anything else or where to set up but any options or suggestions would be great...

Best bet is to get out there and set up near some fresh deer sign.

Find out where the most use creek crossing is. Setup a cam if you have one to see when they are using it. Ask the land owner the most common wind direction for that area this time of year. It helps to have a climber with a few trees picked out and ready to go depending on wind, or a couple hang on stands already setup. When in doubt...walk the creek, find the most beat down trail/crossing and setup there.

went and walked thru the land yesterday...found many signs of deer in area...creek had prints leading thru it and out over into the backside of the field...actually when walked thru i ended up spooking one that was bedded down..and other north end of property they have apple trees growing in the woods that had signs of multiple dear over there...so i have a few options on placement and the trees are prime for a climber in those spots....set up the camera on the creek crossing and will check next weekend to see movement..wind is also usually out of the south/southwest in that area...so heres to hoping for better hunting and hopefully getting a buck on camera for a change...

I might check out that spot on the N where the woods has a finger between those open spots.

actually to the east there is a spot as well just off that finger area...that has apple trees growing in the woods that had signs of deer around recently...and on the west side of the field there is a funnel that leads out to the fields that are using heavily crossing the stream in the woods...i have the camera set up at the stream to check patterns...there are apple and acorns all over the area along with the fields still green they are definately not hurting for any source of food right now...
