I'm in the market for a bow. I really want a bowtech but I like Hoyt also. Here's my delima, I've found a 2011 Hoyt Pro Hawk loaded $600.00, 2006 Bowtech Allegiance bare $350.00, and a Bowtech Black Knight loaded
$650.00. I need help deciding which one to get. Please give your opinions.

The best thing to do is to shoot them all and see which one feels best. Depending on what's on the Hoyt for accessories the Allegiance is going to cost you about the same once it's tricked out.

Whichever one you get just be sure that it fits you!

Can anyone offer any details on the Black Knight. I know it has a 5.5 inch brace height and was wondering how much that is going to effect the foregiveness of the bow compared to the 7 inch brace height on the others?

I'd say the 7" brace is going to be 21% more forgiving (1-<5.5/7>x100) and if you're less than an expert shooter I wouldn't even think of a brace 6" or less.

I haven't shot a bow in probably 6 years. I'm wanting to get back into to it so I'd say I'm far from expert.
    Thanks Rob

Watch out for Bowtec h Costmer Service

The downside of a Bowtech is customer service. If you ever do get through on the phone, all you will get is "contact your dealer". This is not always that easy if you live quite a distance from a dealer that carries their products. Octane rests are a division of Bowtech, I have a Tripwire rest that needs a replacement launcher and I have been waiting over 4 months. I believe extreme lack of customer service may be their downfall.

The last time I was in the market for a bow there weren't as many choices as there are now?
