I just got back into bowhunting again, and have a question about arrows?

    Right now I have 27 1/2 in. Easton XX75's 500's aluminum, I shoot a 47 pound Diamond Razor Edge.

Would there be a advantage to go carbon arrows?

It has been so long since I have bowhunted, things have changed as far archery gear.

    Thanks,

Dude! Sorry no one got to you yet but YES! Things are different and for the better.
Carbon arrows are Great! I shoot the Easton Axis 340s and the FMJ is another solid option.
I can not tell you what to get but go to the Easton Arrow website and visit a good bow shop if you can.
    Good Luck and Keep Shooting!

i prefer carbon over aluminum because of how sturdy they are. if you prefer heavier arrows like i do, you have heavy arrow alternatives in carbon also.

i'm glad i don't have to straighten my arrows anymore hehehe

Carbon are thinner so less drag makes for faster arrow speeds and they are very durable. While shooting a 50lb bow is fine and it will kill I doubt you get passthoughs all the time. Normally say half your aluminum arrow is sticking out the deer and it runs away. chances are that your arrow is going to get broken off or bent. I've seen deer run 100 yrds with a carbon arrow sticking out of it and find it dead with the arrow in tact. I'd never go back to aluminum. It's like most of us I'm sure would never go back to wood.

I shoot 52lbs with Victory carbon arrows; my wife shoots 42lbs with carbons. We have both had pass-throughs on deer and near pass-throughs on elk. You'll be fine with your setup with carbons.
