just wanting some opinions or advice on this guy. hes a huge six. do yall think hes just really old and is losing antler growth because of age, or is he a buck with bad genetics that needs culled from the herd?? this past season was my first with cameras, and ive never saw him before last season, so i really have no idea. im thinkin hes just an old boy with lots of miles, but really dont know. what do u think??
Whitetails I believe usually max out antler growth at around 5 or 6 and then start deteriorating from there.....he's def that old or more but I personally think genetics might have something to do with this one ...tough call.......he'd be on my radar though for sure....a warrior no doubt Sent from my SAMSUNG-SGH-I727 using Tapatalk 2
Buck don't necessarily max out at 5 or 6, some can put on more inches until 8 or ten, all depends on the animals conditions. That deer looks old and is a trophy in my book, probably doesn't have the genetics to be a 150" deer, but out wit a old warrior is more of an accomplishment than killing a 3 or 4 year old that happens to have a huge rack. Good luck!
Thats one big problem with antler point restrictions, they should restrict to 4 points on a side or 16" outside spread.
