You're nuts! At that time of the day, they'll be chasin' you if you start messin' with 'em. Because it's that gnarly type of nest with the long holes and flat... get a few cans of wasp spray (the kind that you can 'shoot' 20 feet) and spray those cans til there's none left in them. Oh... and spray them at dusk or dark - it's MUCH safer. After spraying and waiting for say 15 minutes, look for signs of movement (with a flashlight of course). If there is none... it'll probably be okay to then scrape the nest off your cushion. After that, I'd take the cushion off and take it home to spray it down with scent killer.
