We finally got a really good rain about 3 days ago. The seed sat on the ground for 2 weeks in the spot where crass is in issue. I hope I didn't lose too much of it.

The other spot was only on the ground for 4-5 days. It should be good to go. Hopefully we will have some good sprouts in a few days. The ground is so hard in the first spot, I'm wondering if the seed was able to get into the soil enough.

We will see! Next year will definitely be better

The time it laid out won't hurt it unless it had just enough moisture to sprout but not enough to sustain the sprout until it grabbed soil. Those species are pretty hardy, I bet you'll be happy with it.

Checked it yesterday, the first spot where the ground didnt get worked up too well. It's sprouting and appears to be patchy but definitely getting some growth. The oats didn't get worked into the ground enough with the rain and hard ground, especially with the seeds being large. Everything else appears to be on track though. Losing the oats isn't a big deal really.

I'm going to check on the other spot today hopefully

You never know for sure. I drilled several acres of plots in a while back and some came out good and others suck. We had so much rain afterwards that the lower lying plots drowned out and what survived the deer mowed off.

My food plot in my first place has flat taken off over the last few days. I can't believe how fast the oats are growing. I just hope they really help to let the clover mature.

I haven't been able to check my second spot that I worked so hard to clear out and planted in Whitetail Institute Fusion then I added oats to that mix
