This is 80 acres in Saunders county nebraska that I have permission on. The land owner gave me the ok to do whatever I want to improve the whitetail habitat within the timber and the pasture land. The place is getting over run by cedars so I know I need to cut quite a few down but want to leave some for cover. Next year corn is going in to the south field and beans in the north. There's a runoff pond that fills up every year. Any suggestions/ ideas would be very helpful. I'm a seasoned archery hunter but have never had the freedom to improve the habitat. Kinda leary about food plots because there's already corn and beans surrounding the place but hinge cutting and maybe a winter plot within the timber is something I've been thinking about. Again if this was your project what would you do? Thanks in advance I appreciate anybody that's willing to take a few minutes and help me out!!
Mineral station as the deer will have plenty of access to food while crops are in. Once they are pulled, that will be key, at least for me. If they don't have any food, they'll rotate to another field most likely (that's what happens on my property at least).
