So my son is pulling 50# his draw is 25" he has been shooting his .500 spine gold tips cut to 24.5" since last year. To be honest i think they are too short. he has about a half an inch between the broadhead and rest and to me that is just too close. Should I get some of the same arrows and have them cut them longer? Or go longer and up to the .400 spine. He is shooting a mission hammer with 1oo gr tips. d loop, peep, and kisser, QAD drop away. which was out of time btw. Got that straight I believe but he is a bit inconsistent for my liking.

Cut to the DL. Safe to add a little if he’s growing. And he’s good at 400-500 at 50#. At that DL he won’t drop spine until draw weight gets more towards 60.

I shoot 300 at 63# and 27. Total arrow eight just under 650. My Arrows are 28.

I would recommend going to new arrows around 26" long. Get that BH out beyond his hand and a bit of room for him to grow. He's going to grow in DL and DW. You could still do 500 spine but I'd bump to a 400 spine and add a bit more tip weight. Going from 500 spine to 400 spine will bump up the GPI about 1 grain per inch. 50 grain inserts or even just 20 grain weights to the back of a standard insert (Goldtip F.A.C.T. system weights). At 50 lbs of draw weight a heavier arrow will give him some penetration help.
I'm not talking crazy RF weights or anything, but youth archers do benefit quite a bit from having a heavier total arrow weight (TAW).
His current arrows are roughly around 320 grains TAW and the above would come in around 375 grains TAW with a 20 grain FACT weight and around 400 TAW with a 50 grain insert. There will be quite a difference in how much quieter his bow is.
    Just my humble suggestion.

I agree with Mod as well. The increase in length and in spine will give him room to grow and adjust his bow as he gets stronger
