Just moved in to our newly built house and my ruger has a seized safety I have to fix. Dad loaned me his 22 mag. I haven't even shot it until then. Dead on. I have cudzu, groundhogs, Coyotes, copperheads and varmints out the wazoo. Not enough time in the day to kill it all, but the old man's 22 mag is solid. Ha!
WTF-I was getting mice in my rat traps so I put out poison in kid/dog proof containers 2 of them, replaced one block I am still getting mice in the rat traps. Guess I will put out some mouse traps to see how many I can trap in 24 hours. Not 1 in the house, I will keep it that way. Every week something else to kill, bull heads are next on the list.
I’m curious how you’re going to selectively kill only bullheads. Not doubtful, just curious. I have faith in you!
I bought a frog gig/fork spear with an 8' pole. The bullheads come right to the surface to eat the pellets.
Deployed the full arsenal of traps this evening 2 box traps 3 rat traps 3 mouse traps. Got 2 mice and a bonus gray squirrel today.
So I had plans for last night just to cut up a tree, no killing, no traps set. I started cutting on the tree it was hollow and full of holes I started cutting and mice started coming out of the tree, running up and down the tree like a squirrel. I had no choice but to start killing I got two with the saw and stomped another half dozen out. I get all done and cleaned up and I am enjoying a cold ice tea out by the stump and a red squirrel started barking at me, had to kill him too. Tonight I have every intention of just killing weeds and grubs but will see how that goes.
The legend of Babayaga continues. Have had a burn pile burning since Friday night, I went put the head lamp on and went to check the fire. I walk up on a large mouse by the fire, damn thing looked at me and ran right into the fire I watched it burn up. Would flee into fire rather than face the fate of being an unwelcome rodent on my land.
dont kill 'em .. pamper 'em ...... This lady made a Squirrel Resort in her back yard after she noticed the neighborhood squirrels were struggling in the Texas heat https://notthebee.com/article/this-...-squirrels-were-struggling-in-the-texas-heat/
Oh it is war all out, bust the weapons out of the basement floor. I took my son for ski last night and I was enjoying the breeze and the hum of the outboard when I watched a mouse run across the casting deck and my wife saw one in the back. I want the nest, I want the babies. I will trap and poison every single day.
Hhmmmm that immediately made the word voters run across my mind. I'll leave it at that and let individuals decide which they'd see.
2 dead mice, both adults, I am not done killing yet. I restocked all the poison and the traps, every single last one of them will be deployed. I am thinking about a new war kitten or a shart.
whats wrong with Bullheads, they eat just as good as small catfish ... used catch 'em by the dozens, skin em, clean em, bread 'em, deep fry 'em ... used a crayfish/crab trap to get bait or would use tainted shrimp
Because I can catch walleye, I refuse to eat breaded, battered, deep fried fish. I have an 8' pole I am going to try to drop a stink bait with a treble hook and cross some eyes hook sets.
Well the stink bait didn't work out, perhaps it was a little too windy. Biggest problem was other fish hitting the bait before the bullhead. Sunnies that had zero problem getting the treble hook in their mouth, nice size fish.
I have been expanding the side yard taking out brush and planting grass, it was brush area between the retaining wall and the bay. Any reds or chips on the lawn area are not welcome. Yesterday I am busy spreading black dirt and it was crazy it seemed the rodents did not recognize the new lawn area. I laid down my tools and loaded up the 20 and proceeded to shoot 2 reds and 3 chips in less than 30 seconds. Message sent. I still sniff the spent shells.
