Better if he started learning to shoot lefty. I have a buddy that had to do this and he now shoots lefty and is very good at shooting now

Get a lefty or shoot with left eye closed.

Generally speaking, it is best to go with your dominant eye. Being young, he should pick up the transition to a left handed bow pretty quick.

I am left eye dominant and shoot right handed. I have always just shot with my left eye closed and I have never had a problem. It's better to be able to shoot with both eyes open but I couldn't get used to shooting left handed.

I'm in my late 30s, and extremely cross-eye dominant. I made the switch to shooting lefty this year. I'm shooting just as good as I ever did. Only took about 2 weeks to get used to it, and maybe a month to get my shoulder strength up to the same as my natural right side. After only 6 weeks, it already feels natural.
I used to shoot w/ my dominant eye closed, but eventually the vision in my weak eye got so bad I couldn't focus on both the pin and the target at the same time.
I highly recommend the switch - we owe it to the animals we hunt to be at our physical best.
