Going to be picking up a book or two for the flight to the Dominican here in a few weeks. I'm open to most subjects, but history and outdoors topics are preferred. It has to be available for the kindle, too:D
Lone Survivor by Marcus Luttrell. GREAT read. Dont want to give anything away but its about he and 3 other navy seals involved in an Afghan battle He has a new released book called Service but I suggest reading Lone Survivor first.
The Song of Ice and Fire Series (aka Game of Thrones) - historical fiction The Scavengers Guide to Haute Cuisine - outdoors and cooking Guns, Germs, and Steel - outdoors and history The River of Doubt - outdoors and history (Teddy Roosevelt)
I can second the Lee Child novels with Jack Reacher. They're quick reads and fast paced. Another series I like is the Hawke novels by Ted Bell.
Graphicaudio.net The Night Angel Trilogy by Brent Weeks Perfect Shadow by Brent Weeks Listen to Sample
[h=1]Last Man Out: Glenn McDole, USMC, Survivor of the Palawan Massacre in World War II [Kindle Edition][/h]This is about Mr McDole who was in a Japanese POW Camp in the Philippines in WWII. He lived up the street from me until is death in 2009. He was truly an awesome man.
This is a good one! Here are a few more I'd recommend... The Tracker - Tom Brown, JR (outdoors) Also a good book that's a quick read: Jesus Brand Spirituality - Ken Wilson And, a very eye-opening book: The Omnivore's Dilema - Michael Pollan
The hatchet, Brian's winter, and I know they are big, but just got done with the first two hunger games books and they are great.
A Land Remebered by Patrick D Smith Its a fiction novel about a family who settled in florida in the mid 1800's and about their struggles as Flordia crackers. A lot of the events and places in the book are real just not the family. I know your not from Florida but great read none the less. My favorite book of all time! http://www.amazon.com/Land-Remember...1162/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1337706730&sr=8-1
