Nice sounds like you have a plan, sure people make all kinds of suggestions but a bag of soybean seed isn't cheap and you can't buy just a few pounds you have to buy a 50# bag.

    Exactly.

I looked at a few different local co op homemade deer plot blends... They were running $4/lb and I would need 60lbs - Too spendy for a simple first time project I'm looking at doing.

Soybean seed is actually pretty inexpensive.

Even with an early maturing bean, wouldn't it be too late to plant those?

Yeah I wouldn't anymore. When I initially brought it up it was almost a month ago.

I know some organizations will give you free seed for planting food plots, if it's in any kind of pheasant area our local PF chapter gives out seed and we currently have a ton of corn left over and some soybeans and some other stuff if you want beans next year and have some pheasants I think you could grab some, message MNElkNut about it cuz he is the President

Thanks for the offer! The crazy thing is... We have a guy about 1/2 mile away that has a pheasant preserve and lets them go during the summer/fall, then lets hunters roam his land to hunt them. We get TONS of pheasants on our small 40 from this.

May need to get in contact with him!
