I have a new property to hunt this year. It will be the first time in 20 years to be hunted. It has a large creek that always holds water flowing behind it. I put a black line around the property line. I looking for any advice on where to hang stands or even a trail camera. Thanks Sent from my SPH-L720 using Tapatalk
Yes, find out what will be planted in the fields. My current stand sits in the woods beside a field of corn. I really enjoyed the stand as the deer walked the roadway around the field. Without knowing, if the green is like little islands of trees, I would put a stand in the middle. Is the creek the top part of the property?
I like top right and middle you already have marked but the top left where the creek comes to a point near the field looks good to me and left inside corner although I don't know how you're approaching your stands I would think ideally through the creek bed Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Theres wheat in the front of the woods and corn all the way around it. The creek is at the top of the woods that's what marks the property line. I just put up cameras up where I have marked to see whats out there Sent from my SPH-L720 using Tapatalk
How much woods is that? Doesn't look very big. I find those small patches with that many fields around can be tough to hunt because it's very easy to over-hunt them and for deer to pattern you because your options for stand sites are so limited.
Its not very big but its attached to another woods I have 2 other woods to hunt to Sent from my SPH-L720 using Tapatalk
Thats where it funnels down to almost just the creek im thinking about putting a trophy rock out there this weekend Sent from my SPH-L720
if i was hunting this property i would put the minerals in the middle so you could hunt the funnels on both sides.
I would hunt by the field depending on what they are going to plant in it. In Louisiana we plant lots of soybeans and the deer love 'em!
