Ok I'm thinking of getting a string stop and stabilizer and want to know what you guys and gals might think will be good setup. The string stop will have to be front mounted. Here are the specs of the bow: 80% let-off (adjusts 65%) Brace Height: 7-1/8" Axle-to-axle: 30–5/8" IBO Speed: 304 fps Weight: 3.4 lbs. Let me know what everyone thinks! Thanks!
As far as a string stop, check this one out. http://www.bowhunting.com/shopping/Products/String-Tamer-Senior__NW-STSENIOR.aspx
Sorry, I just picked that one as representative. Here is the front mount one: http://www.bowhunting.com/shopping/Products/NORWAY-STRING-TAMER-FRT-MNT-BLK__1423.aspx
Thanks bruse! So I assume that a stabilizer will fit into it. Have any reccomendations on a stabilizer? I have been shooting without and the bow is quiet but I think the string stop and stabilizer could do a little more.
I don't use a stabilizer. Unless you use it for noise reduction I think they serve no purpose for the vast majority of hunting scenarios and I just hunt with my bows.
What bow are you shooting??? I find that a parallel limb bow needs less "stabilization" than a curved limb bow, as they seem to be more well balanced. I may be crazy, but that's just been my experience for the most part. Could be the better engineering, but it seems that the older curved limb bows like the Ultratec I had that passed on to my nephew NEED stabilization moreso than something like my Trykon or Katera.
here it is... http://www.basspro.com/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/Product_10151_-1_10001_101408_450001000_450000000_450001000_450-1-0
Gabevtwin, I looked at the same bow package at the BP here in NC but ended up going with the PSE Stinger. Both bows are very close to one another. The guy at BP showed me by holding the bow out in his hand by lightly holding the grip that the bow pretty much balanced itself. He said if anything that I would use a 2 or 4 inch version. And maybe OHbowhntr is correct saying that most bows are already balanced very well. Maybe with a string stop added, you may need to add a bit of weight outfront to counter it. Just my 2 cents.
Thanks Green! Good to see a fellow NC bowhunter. Yeah I want to put a string stop on and figured I would have to balance it out. I read an article about a guy that tested the bow and said it made a world of difference when he added the mods. So It's not like I really need it...just kicking around the idea.
gabevtwin, I shoot the same bow and would be curious to know how the string stop does for you. Please send an update if you decide to go through with this.
Sounds good man I'll let you know. Probably won't happen till b4 deer season because I just dropped some change on some new Turkey hunting stuff. Gotta save some pennies for mods to come.
I use limbsaver i found it more in my price range and it works great with vib. and noise i use the x-coil my brohter uses the s-coil we both love them and they arent to pricey
