The first pics of this buck we got in October of 2009. The land owner said this deer is supposedly 8 years old and that would make him 9 this year. Anyway, the second pick if from a few days ago.I know that as a deer passes it's prime it will start to deteriorate but would it be possible for the buck to have this many changes in a year without being injured in the off season? I personally do not think it is the same deer but there are a few shared characteristics. Just let me know what you think.
Hard for me to say. ONLY thing I know about bucks that old is what I read and see on the net. But, the last set of photos I saw of an old buck, chronicled him to age 12. Was he an anomoly? Well....yeah (he lived to 12yrs, didn't he?). But, his antlers really didn't deteriorate that much. Was he in ideal conditions? Probably. Is this buck in ideal conditions? Pender Co.? Jones? Craven? I'd say he was (for the area). I just wouldn't "think" there would be a fall-off of significant proportions in one season. I didn't even stay at a Holiday Inn, last night. So, take that for what it's worth..... I say 2 diff. bucks.
Thanks guys for the input. I agree with yall as well. There are more differences than similarities too me. Just wanted some other peoples opinion. Thanks again.
