It was actually $1200 over that $45K but only because of the way I financed it and because I added gap insurance. Zero down 5% for 84 months, lol. I didn't go through Ford so I lost $1200 of factory rebates but it was too sweet of a deal to pass up. I still ended up way better than with the rebates. I hate the idea of that long of a term deal but truth be told I already have two years worth of payments on hand and the sales tax from my old truck. By the time it's three years old, I'll probably trade it for a new one anyway. The 2017's coming out this fall have the aluminum body and a revamped interior to match the new F-150's with a double panel moon roof. I thought about waiting but circumstances wouldn't allow it. Besides I probably would have never found a new 2017 F-250 Lariat at that kind of a price and that's really where I needed to be. Thanks for all the help and advice guys, sorry for the headfake on the F-150's but I'm glad I erred on the side of caution and went bigger. Gas mileage is better than my old 5.4L F-250 also...at least so far but I was on the highway too so time will tell on that. (It's also not broken in yet so hopefully it gains some MPG over time)
Sure am glad I don't think I have to have a $40K truck. People spend stupid money on vehicles. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
I recently bought a 2012 Ecoboost in January. I drove a 2003 Dodge 2500 Diesel for 11.5 years and it was time. I've enjoyed everything about my new truck so far. I do have the FX4 package and heated/cooled seats which will be nice this summer out here. Sounds like either motor will do what you need it to, just find the right truck at the right price you like.
As would I. That's only $7k more than I paid for my Tundra. They probably get similar mpg, but you're stepping up to a 3/4 ton. Congrats and a nice buy Covey, but I can't believe you're even considering trading in a few years, lol. Your truck isn't even a day old. Sent from my XT1585 using Tapatalk
A mile in another man's moccasins brother.... Forward thinking. You either stay on top of stuff or stuff stays on top of you. I hope your tundra gets better fuel economy than this truck. It seemed to be getting 12-15 on the highway at 75mph, my 08 got more like 10-11. This one may only get like 2mpg pulling, dunno but I'll be happy if it pulls my stuff without grunting it's guts out.
Different approaches to vehicle buying is all, nothing wrong with getting what you want. Enjoy! I'm at 15.5mpg mixed driving through almost 5 months, so a little better but toward the bottom of the 1/2 ton market. Sent from Samsung Galaxy Note 10.1
Well I sold my old 2008 F-250 truck today, that pretty much sews up the last of this new pickup adventure. I'm loving the new truck so far. I thought I'd be sad to say goodbye to my old one and I was a little until I got home and drove the new one to town to deposit the check I got from selling the old one, lol. It felt pretty good stashing that check. Thanks for all the advice and opinions folks, I appreciate it.
We gave you lots of advice BUT did you listen to any of it????????? HECK NO!!!!!!! You must have driven your Mama crazy!
Haha! The advice given was all pertinent to the original question, I just asked the wrong question to start with as it turned out. At least I have that advice to fall back on if I ever buy an F-150. My mom was a little off to start with, where do you think I got it from?
I don't think that you should go blaming your poor mother. Probably should look in the mirror and maybe check the old diary.............. I'm betting that most of that crazy comes from "EXPERIENCE!"
What is it that they say................................ "Beauty is only skin deep but crazy goes all the way through!!!!!"
I have a '15 Lariat 3.5. I really like the engine, I don't work it hard very often and I can get close to 19mpg. I tow a 7000lbs TT and I can get 10mpg at sub 70mph, it's very capable and has lots of great features Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
I pulled a loaded fertilizer cart this afternoon with the new truck, pulled it like a champ. Had 9000 pounds of urea on it plus whatever the weight of the cart is. It pulled it so much easier than my old truck it was like comparing a pickup to a semi.
Nice Truck Covey! You got a great deal. If only I could grow a pair and pull the trigger on a new truck, but looking at that truck has given me some motivation!
