Deer season starts too soon right before deer season would be the best time to hunt and it's to short

Think you need to read your post again. Having a hard time figuring what your saying.

I think he’s saying he thinks it should start a little later, maybe pre rut and extend longer into the winter? Is that what you mean

I saw a post where he said he's 14 years old, so keep that in mind.
    I'm confused as well.
"Deer season starts too soon." But then "right before deer season would be the best time to hunt". That's where I get lost.
One of the best times to tag a really good buck is when they are still in their late Summer feeding patterns, perhaps that's what he means about "right before would be the best time".
Then after summer feeding patterns end, but before the rut hits, they turn into mostly nocturnal ghosts. Perhaps that's the "deer season starts too soon" part?

Longer ?? why ?? ... here in Indiana, our urban archery season starts Sept. 15 and runs all the way to Jan. 31st !! .. thats 4.5 months !!... Regular Archery is from Oct. 1 to the first Sunday in Jan. ..... we also have over 30 days of some type of firearms/ML's blazing away at the critters .....

Considering his age maybe he can only hunt Bow season.

If you sit back and take it in, I would totally agree with him. Hunting used to start second week of OCT up here and now it starts Oct. 1 and they are proposing making that Sept 21. The more time in the woods the greater the pressure on the animal and more you educate then. So yes it starts too early. And Bow ends third Saturday of November and then the orange army destroy the woods so yeah season ends too soon.
