I'm heading to Kansas with fellow member Mo Bowhunter, and some buddies for their archery season April 1st-4th and need some info on ways to setup, decoys, etc... We've gone and scouted twice and have found tracks and droppings, but have yet to see a turkey. I'm not used to this at all coming from Missouri where they are everywhere. We are hunting public land in the southeast portion of the state. As far as my setup goes I'm using a ground max vision blind, now owned by Primos, I have a redhead strutting decoy, two flambeau decoys, one hen and one jake. I'm going to be dressed in all black from the waist up. What else do i need to know and bring with me?
Definately need a bow stand of some sort to hold bow with arrow on it. And a good stool. And practice shooting from in the blind out of different holes, you will see how much you need it once you shoot from a stool or kneeling with your body tourqued one way or the other. Good luck, and be safe!
