    Hey guys,
Ive been researching for a new pair of binos to upgrade from my Leupold acadias. $700 is the top end of my budget. I think Ive narrowed it down to either the Vortex Viper HD or Zeiss Conquest 10x30.

    http://swfa.com/Zeiss-10x30-Conquest-Binocular-P2026.aspx

They both have decent reviews but I wanted to hear from you guys on what you think about these binos and which one might suit me best. Most of hunting is high country spot and stalk. Does the 30mm objective on the Zeiss make any difference (negative) from the 42mm? What do you guys think? Anyone have experience with either of these binos? Any other suggestions for good binos in my price range? Any info is greatly appreciated. Thanks!

Cant say i have any experience with any thing better than bushnell 10x50. But those are some pricey specs. Cant imagine what i could see with those!

I have a pair of 8x43 ED2's. I suggest you read reviews/comparisons with the Zen-Ray binos and anyone else. You may be surprised. You can buy them for less at places other than the website.

I can personally tell you to go with the Vortex Viper HD's. Excellent quality and customer service. They stand behind their products. I have the Vortex Diamondback 10x42s and the Viper HD 10x42s and love them both. Excellent glass, rugged, compact, and lightweight! You would be much happier with the 10x42 power configuration anyways. They also have the Talon HD lineup. A little heavier and longer, but again great glass that you should be able to pickup a little cheaper!

I have handled many of their products first hand and know the quality is there. Plus they have a great rangefinder (Ranger 1000) which will be available this summer!

I'd say go with the 42 Objective. The larger size gathers more light and the glasses will be much brighter, especially in low light conditions when you need them most.

I'm partial to Leupold binoculars myself. Have had the same set for about 6 years now and love them.

I have been using Vortex binoculars for the past 3 years. I started out with the Fury 10X42 then went to the Viper HD 10X42 this past month. Unbelievable quality and unmatched customer service!!!!

Thanks everyone for the replies, looks like vortex gets the nod. Ive been a Leupold guy my whole life but it seems to me that their quality and availability of good glass has dropped off in recent years. Is that just me or are my observations correct?

Don't rule out Cannon, I have a pair of 10x that is image stabilized, You can use them all day with no eye fatigue, great clarity also, Retail is under $650.00. Whatever you get, You absolutely have to look thru them before you buy.
