    Hey all
I am new to bowhunting but have been shooting since I was a kid. I have a new to me PSE Nova 55lb compound bow. Ill need a better sight for it and like the lighted ones but that is a luxury I may not need. My Peep sight moves around and is diffucult to use due to the movement, so a new one would be nice. need a damper for the string and a damper/vibecheck/comp whatever they are called for the front too. Any help,Ideas or sugestions would be killer!
    Thank you!
    p.s. sorry to be such a noob:fro:

First of all, welcome to the best bowhunting forum on the web!

If you're new to this, and know of a good bow shop around where you live, I'd highly recommend visiting them and having them help setup your bow properly.

Have them check your draw length and ensure the bow is fit correctly for you. Have them tie your peep sight in correctly. You say it is moving. Do you mean its rotating and not aligning to your eye correctly or is it sliding up and down the string? If its rotating, it may be time for a new string. If its sliding, it just needs tied in correctly.

As for accessories. A good shop can help you pick out accessories in your budget that you can try out before you buy.

How old is the bow and do you know the age of the strings? The peep could be moving because it is either not tied into the string well or the strings have stretched and needs to be replaced. As for sights, I've read nearly 100% positive reviews for Spott Hogg and Armotech. I recently purchased an Armotech sight and like it a lot more than the sight I had. It is a lot better constructed. Got to warn you though you can drop some money on sights in a hurry and I've found that you get what you pay for.

First off welcome to bowhunting.com and welcome to the Bowhunting comunity.

I too have a new to me bow that I just re-accessorized. I asked on here as well as just looked for a long time to decide what I wanted. I too have an older PSE. It was decent when I got it but needed updating. First thing I like to do when buying a used bow is put a new string on it no matter how new the previouse owner says it is. I have found there are more people out there that do not replace their strings when they should. A good average time frame is two years on a string. Here is a list of what I bought and love all of it.

Rest: New Archery Products (NAP) Apache drop away. To me it was the best deal on the market and I have yet to hear a bad word about it. Full containment and tooless adjustment is really nice.
Stabilizer: the thing you refered to as "damper/vibecheck/comp": NAP Apache 8" you can use it as an 8" or 5". Took all the vibration out of my bow and shock out of my handle. looks pretty sick on the bow also.
Peep: G5 Meta peep. I love this thing. This is my first tubless peep and I couldn't be happier. The size will depend on the size of your sight ring.
String: Custom made string by a company called Tombstone strings. They are local and so far I am happy with it.
Sight: I have not bought it yet but it will be the TruGlo Micro Brite 5 pin. I shoot long distance for fun some and like to have five instead of three. I have an old TruGlo now and I like it OK and if I don't get a new one before season it will be fine.

These are just the accessories I have bought and love all of them. Just suggestions but, I know you wouldn't be dissapointed with them. Especially the NAP products. You won't find the quality and customer service they have with too many other brands out there especially at their prices. I decided to go ahead and buy the things I wanted now because I will be buying a new bow next tax time and I van put the new stuff on my new bow and all the old stuff back on the one I have now for a back up.
