    hi,
any help would be appreciated, my bow is right on ,it is hitting right where i want at 20yd and 30 yd, iam shooting a high country extreme with carbon wolverine hunter arrows(6070) and 100 gr broadhead. i am hunting from a ground blind and had a nice buck come in and missed at 24 yd, later the same day i had a big 8 point come in and missed again at 27 yd. the deer didnt know i was there i had plenty of time. both clean misses, i took my bow out today and just to check if my sight was off. its not 20 and 30 yd shots were right on the money. whats the deal i dont understand why i keep missing.

Buckfever perhaps? Hit a branch? Did the buck jump it?

Did you use a range finder to verify the distance to the deer or was it estimated?

Are you peaking/looking to see where the shot is going before making the shot execution, ie jumping on the trigger, target panic?

If it's not the bow, it's the indian!

    yea,
i verified the yardage before the shot. the only thing i can think of is even though i had plenty of time to make the shot i rushed it. peeking like rob said makes alot of sense to me now. they didnt have time to jump the string , i should settle down and shoot as though i am shooting at a target and try not to get the jitters because its a big deer.
    thanks guys

It happens and it's hard to believe when it does. My 04 buck I missed at 16 yards. I was dumb founded and blaming the bow. I nocked an arrow, looked it over, checked center shot and then realized the buck was standing there in the field at 25 yards. So I draw and miss again! I'm really blaming the bow again. I check for loose items etc....I'm baffled. Everything looked perfect. I realized the buck was still in the woods beside me and with a little calling I pulled him back in the field where at 41 yards I double lunged him and heard him crash. I told myself before shooting, trust your experience, trust your bow. Pick a hair.

It wasn't the bow, it was the indian! And after I shot very rewardable years of 3D competitions. Moral, lol it happens! Shake it off and embrace the experience. Good luck on the next one, pick a shot and make the shot. :D
