Check out the Matthews genesis.. its one of the most versatile bows on the market if not the most. It's also the same bow that NASP ( national archery in the schools program) uses. And if anything ever goes wrong with it, Matthews has the best customer service I have ever had the privilege of dealing with. Hope this helped

if you like matthews but want something cheaper i reccomend the Mission lineup, they have several smaller bows that would work just great with kids. Heres the Mission Craze: http://missionarchery.com/Craze-bow.asp. the bow goes for $299 but a good package deal will probably bring you up somewhere around $350-$400

I bought my son the Diamond Razor Edge. The bow should last him until he is able to buy his own. Defiantly worth checking out.

Alpine micro is a nice setup. My girlfreind currently shoots one and killed her first deer with a bow with it. It has a nice range of draw lenght and weight on it and is pretty fast if set up correctly. We paid 75 from my cousin 3 years ago for it bare now it has around 400 into it with accessories. Very easy draw adjustment also no press needed at all.

Another vote for the Diamond Razor Edge. Purchased my daughter one a few years back and have since purchased one for my other daughter and just recently my girlfriend. We have looked at pretty much eveyrthing available and with the setup it has, the ease of adjustablility and the price it beat out all the others for me hands down!

My girlfriend bought he Bear Apprentice. For being a youth/small frame shooter bow, it is really working out great. The draw weight is adjustable from 20-50 pounds and the length, I believe, from 17-27 inches, or pretty close to that. We got it brand new with arrows and release from the pro shop for $380. She's doing real well with it, we are going out this weekend so hopefully she will get her first deer with it then.

Diamond Razor or the Mission bows are really good. My oldest son had the Diamond, my youngest the Mission. Both are really good for the price and grow with the kid.
