Well let me start off by saying, First off I am not a begging man, or a man looking for a hand out. But here is my dilemma. I am looking for someone who knows how to get a good bow for very very cheap. I am a veteran of the Army and I have PTSD, I have come to find out that bow hunting has a real great effect on my mood and symptoms of PTSD, But I can not afford a nice bow, I have 3 teenagers and work very hard but just can not save the money for a bow. I have checked craigslist, Ebay, all the sites you can check for a cheap bow and still can't find one for less the 100 bucks. I understand that 100 bucks may not be a lot for some people, But it is when you are the only one working, Your wife is going to school and you don't qualify for government assistance... I went out with a friend of mine who wanted to show me all about bow hunting, For that 4 hours I was out there waiting to shoot something it was the most peaceful my mind has been since coming home. I am a very proud man and would never ever ask for help with anything but this is very important for me. I felt the calm and loved the way it made me feel. So I am asking if someone knows anything that could help me out I would be MORE the grateful. Thanks NewtoHunting (Chris)
Did you look at the bows for sale or trade forum? Looks like there a couple bows there that might be in your price range.
Welcome to the site and thank you for your service! I'd try and go to a proshop and get measured for your draw length. That will be the most important thing. They might also have some cheaper bows for sale there. Once you know your DL, you can look on craigslist and online forums. I got my buddy into bowhunting. He killed his first deer with a $50 bow.
