I shoot a whisker biscuit right now but I would like to switch to a new set up that has no fletching contact. I am not sure about the drop away rest , I do alot of hiking and I like to hunt with an arrow nocked. So does anyone have any Ideas for me?

For what you describe the WB is probably the best rest to use. Fletching contact should not really matter.

I try not to walk too much with an arrow nocked but I will carry the arrow in one hand and the bow in the other.

As far as drop away rests you might want to look at the QAD (others can tell you the better model to get), the limbdriver (it now has an arrow holder but I am not personally familiar with that new feature) or an octane hostage pro, to just name a few.

I carry my bow w/ one finger holding my arrow snugly against the shelf of my riser, and it works quite well for me. But I understand the convenience of having something that holds the arrow for you. I've never used a biscuit, yet I have one coming on a bow I just recently bow, so I'll tinker w/ it a bit and have a better opinion of one as a user soon. What I do know is that guy usually have better luck shooting Blazers of something w/ a durable and STIFF vane through them, and if you're not using a STIFF vane, you're likely not happy w/ a biscuit as it tears up lesser vanes pretty quickly. I have a Vital Gear Kaz-away rest that is nice, holds the arrow at rest, and then raises up and out of the way when you draw the bow, you may take a look at something like that and see if that is what may fit your needs. Here's a VG Kaz-Away.... http://www.bowhunting.com/shopping/Products/Vital-Gear-Kaz-Away-Rest__590.aspx

The Limb Driver is great, but I think the Kaz Away (Vital Pro Torsion Spring model) would be perfect for you. Your arrow would not pop out of the "arrow holder" like it could on the Limb Driver.

I was using a Whisker Biscuit but recently moved to a QAD Ultra Rest...I love it...it also has a guard so you can keep the arrow nocked.

Any specific reasons why you want to change the biscuit? I've shot the biscuit for years, and for what you have listed as your primary hunting style, I can't think of another rest that is better suited for that. I've heard good things about the QAD as well and it's full capture, but I really don't think you will gain anything with it except more moving parts.........

May I ask why you hunt with a arrow on the string??
I dont mean to be negitive but maybe the best place for your arrow is in your quiver. I only hunt via walk and stalk. I am generally in my shot position or within my range before drawing an arrow from my quiver. I use a drop away and it works well. I have found that shot opertunities from spooked game are nearly non existant. Broadheads will also stay sharper in your quiver and are much safer.
Just my 2 cents worth ;)

Go with the Quad. It holds an arrow just as good as a whisker buiskut and it is more forgiving and more accurate because it's a drop away. I made the switch and I'll never go back.

Idea #1, as others have hinted at, don't hike with a nocked arrow. It's just plain dangerous and really doesn't gain you anything.

Idea #2; if it's working for you stick to the WB. It's plain, simple and effective. I have both the WB and QAD on some of my bows and I like the simplicity and ruggedness of the WB.

Check out Schaffer's new rest It will be available in March. It looks to be exactly what you need for stalking. There is a video on their website.

I shoot the QAD and I love it, I would not trade it for any other rest. So obviously I would recommend you getting that one...haha. There are several drop away rests out now that are full containment to pick from. My girlfriend shoots an Octane Hostage Pro (not a drop away) and she loves it, and I would have to say that I would have no problem having one of those on my bow either. my .02 hope it helps
