Did you ever find the doe you hit the first time? Also is this from the same stand? Not trying to be offensive because I am by no means that good of a shot but hitting two deer that you are not able to recover isn't that good of a look. All of that aside sometimes it just happens and best of luck finding her in the morning, deer are just tough it's amazing how far they can make a death run.

This one is a tuff. 30 yds and whit hair using a 10 yd pin would lead me to think under shot her slicing through the brisket.

But saying you heard a loud pop and arrow bounced out would have me say offside shoulder armpit area.

But white hair on the arrow is a definite pass through. I don't see any way you could get white hair on the shaft from 10" of pent ration and bouncing out.

Form that last bit of it I think you have a dead deer not far from impact or you shot low, hit a stump or something and thought it bounced out of her and away from infection she'll be chased by bucks for the next month.

Hey that's alright. Youre asking the right people that have been through all that with a bow. We're not dropping them in their tracks with 300 winchesters. I'm sure you looked everywhere last time and practiced between hunts. Give it until morning and get on her.

My first thought is brisket meat hit... deer still alive.

But hard to tell without seeing anything.

    Good luck.

    How high up were you?

The bounce out with white hair has me stumped. Guess you could have hit single lung low, offside leg humerus and had all the same results. Maybe missed lung altogether.

Anythings possible at the 30 yard range if he couldnt see for sure. I figure blood on the arrow and hurt doe... shes finding water or bedding 150 yards away. Assuming shes mid size and not a horse.

Sounds like you either need to tune your bow or practice more before you hunt again based on this happening more than once for you.

Good luck finding her. But I have to ask. Why did you use a 10 yard pin when she was at 30 yards? This has me stumped.

another question is - why does anyone shooting 60# need a 10yd pin?
