i posted a thread earlier but apparently it was in spanish or something. I need some arrow advice i shoot a 50# setup with a octane hostage rest. i've been shooting the easton gamegetter 400 grain 2117's xx75 w/ a 100 grain magnus stinger . i'm looking to switch to a carbon arrow and need advice on a specific arrow that will perform the same way. i am very pleased with the accuracy of the gamegetter and overall performance just the durability of it disappoints me. i am not a spec man so i ask those who are.

At 28" and 50#, unless you're shooting a bow that is above 320 IBO rating, a .500 spine carbon arrow w/ a 100gr tip should be good. Realistically, you're almost ALWAYS better with a stiffer vs. weaker spine.

Look at Easton Axis or Beman MFX in a 500 spine. Great arrows! I've been using them for a good few years now and they are hands down the toughest carbon I've ever used.

Whoops sorry BBD I totally lost this thread in cyber space. I was thinking about it tonight at work, haha. Like OHbowhntr said, a arrow with a .500 spine, or 150, or 35/55 would be perfect. depends on the arrow manu. for what connontation it is. There are a few option's to get your desired weight, do you have any arrow preferences, or cost?

i like a thicker arrow cause they group tighter for me and its a little easier for me to set up my bow that way. i dont have alot of cash to put into arrows right now. but like all hunters i can get a piece at a time.i'm sure you know what i mean. i have always used the 400 grain xx75 easton gamegetters i know squat about carbons but will match up spec wise to the measurements of the arrows i shoot.

here's a few that will put you roughly in that same weight area, +/- 20 grains.

    Carbon Express:
    http://www.carbonexpressarrows.com/cms/content/mayhem-hunter
    250 Spine, 390gr. finished

    250 Spine, 425gr. finished

    45/60 Spine, 385gr. Finished

    Easton:

    500 Spine, 365gr Finished

    Cabelas: (Made by Carbon Express)

    55/70 Spine, 375gr. Finished.

That should give ya something to think about, all weights figured with 100gr. point.

Actually, those last arrows are a Beman/Easton made arrow. I've shot them in Cabela's when test shooting bows, and they are a pretty decently made arrow, but for the money, the Stalker Extremes are a MUCH BETTER arrow.... :tu:

Whoops, thanks for the correction! I have a few of them I have shot as well, in fact my buck from last year took the full force of one of them. Good arrows for the money
