I recently bought a small hd camcorder to start self-filming. I bought one with a remote port but no ext. mic port. I am now second guessing myself on whether I should have gotten the one with the mic port instead. The remote works great and allows me to stay on the animal and with what filming I did last fall the internal seems to be ok. This is not a high end camcorder but one to get my feet wet with until I can afford a upgrade. Most of the camcorders in my price range has one or the other but not both. Need opinions from some of the veteran guys on this matter.
Sony CX110, just asking if you had to do without either a external mic or a lanc remote which one would you give up. The camcorder I have has a input port for a remote but not for a mic. I have read where some people prefer an ext. mic over a remote and vice versa if they had to choose between the two. Most of the camcorders that are in my price range at this time(300-500$)don't have both mic and remote inputs.
