I have been looking at some sights because mine broke but i was wondering if i should get one of those single pin sights. Ive never tried them but they look nice. Do yall have any opinions or stories on 'em. Any comments will be much appreciated. Thanks
Some love the single pin and some don't. I love mine, its the only way to go for me. No sight clutter just concentrate on one pin and put it where you want your arrow to go. I've never had any problem with being set on the wrong yardage while hunting. Mine is set on 20 yards while hunting and all 6 deer I've shot this year it never moved off that mark. I could count the number of deer I've shot at on one hand and have fingers left when I've moved it off of the 20 yard mark. I'm shooting a Trophy Ridge pursuit and like it.
I agree with grnhd. I have 2 bows with single pin, and one with a 7 pin. For me the singles are preferred but when trying to spot and stalk I use the bow with the 7 pin in case the target would move while at full draw. I have a trophy ridge 7 pin, a spot hogg single, and a hha single. All are very high quality and would recommend all
I have used both and I personally like a multi pin sight, I have an hha and I liked it and it functioned well, just wasn't quite for me. They work just fine though.
Check out the CBE TEK Hybrid or TEK Hunter you can get both with a multi pin head and use them as a slider for target. I have the TEK Hunter. Biggest difference is the Hunter has a 6" Dovetail instead of traditional mount. Buddy of mine has both an loves them both. There are others out there that are probably a little cheaper though. I use my top pin as my slider for 3D and set my 3 pins at 20, 30 and 40 for hunting. Sight window isn't to cluttered and I don't have to change the sight out come 3D season. Best part is I can (will but, haven't yet) tune the bow and rest for Fat light shafts for 3D an gap the pins for heavy shafts for hunting. Just readjust the rest and I'll be done.
I have used both and I find the horizontal pins would obstruct my vision. I use a Trophy Ridge Alpha micro V5. this allows me both the use a a vert pin and have the aiming posts for ranges greater than 30 yds without having to adjust the site at that moment. Being a long time rifle guy, I'm used to a front vertical site I guess
I made the jump to a single pin this year and will never go back....I chose the montana black gold ascent ambush with a red sight ring....best sight ive ever owned....tough durable and crazy crazy bright even in low light conditions....the pin doesnt halo because of the light sensitive cover the optic is in and the pin is vertical....it doesnt clutter up the view of the target like a multi pin with horizontals on it did...to me anyway....the dial is easy to adjust as far as changing the yardage goes (never touched it during hunting season...left it at 25 yards and I was good to 35 40 with it there which is more than enough for me)......theres plenty out there that are good sights but I chose this one and am really happy I did....ill use it for a long long time Sent from my SAMSUNG-SGH-I337 using Tapatalk 2
Ive been lookin at some of the sights and so far the Trophy ridge alpha micro looks to be my favorite, mostly because i forget things really easy and i just know im going to forget to move the pin for a single pin sight. Thanks you guys
I have the Single Pin CBE Tek Hybrid on one bow and the HHA DS 5519 on my other bow and I like them both. I love the CBE because the light is designed into the sight. The HHA is easier to adjust for yardage once you have you bow in your hand. Both are great sights and built like a TANK. They are worth every penny!
How much DW are you pulling? I like to have a decently flat shooting bow for a single pin. So that you can set the pin on 25 and still make a good shot at 30 -35 yards.
Getting a second bow now and getting an HHA site on that one as well. Love the single pin sights. Can't imagine setting all the pins and a multi pin sight anymore.
