So, I work in a sawmill. We have hit all kinds of things in trees. Horseshoes, nails, bullets, barbed wire, insulators are fairly common.
This morning I found this. I could only see a bit of the back half in the board, just looked like some metal. But it looked odd and I decided to chisel the wood away to see what it was.
Thought it was a cool find. A two blade that looks like it would’ve been used on a wooden arrow shaft to me. Have to wonder if it had first passed through some critter before it stuck into a pine tree.

Tip is still pretty sharp but the edges are very dull.

Oh. It was hit by a bandsaw tipped with carbide teeth. It roughed up a few of them and knocked some corners off, made it scratch the lumber bad enough that we had to change it.

That's awesome. Somebody into older broadheads could probably identify it and get some cool insight.

Just doing some searching on the internet, it looks very similar to a Bear Razorhead. But I would guess it to be a knock off made by some other company. Hard to tell. I should remove the rest of the wood and see if I can see any kind of markings on it somewhere. It is pretty mangled and cut from the carbide teeth hitting it though.
