Hey folks. I'm new to the forum. I primarily hunt deer in West Texas, North MO and KS. This year I leased a new place in Unit 9, NE KS. Already did some scouting and hung a few stands. Place looks awesome. I've never hunted this part of KS. There are several outfitters that advertise hunts on the area. Do any of you hunt there, or have any info to share? I'm curious as to the number and quality of deer compared to central KS. Thanks!
First off welcome to the site. Second Congrats on the new spot. Sorry can't help you on the last question, but there are quite a few guys from Kansas that might be able too.
A buddy has a lease out in NE Kansas and this is his first year on it. Guys in the past have shot 180" deer of it consistently. He already has a few pics of absolute GIANTS!!
I have a farm in Unit 9 and I have several farms in Unit 14. Unit 9 got hit very hard last year from EHD. Some areas didn't get it but others were hit hard with a lot of dead deer. Nonetheless you should have a good opportunity to kill a nice deer in this Unit.
Thanks guys! Sounds awesome. We are near Seneca this year. EHD hit N MO hard last year. Can't wait to get in a KS tree again. I'm thinkin the first week of November should be sweet spot. Sound right?
