Is he the dirtiest player in the league? He keeps taking some of the dirtiest hits at the knees that I can remember. He is going to end someone's season or career if they keep letting him do this. He has been fined plenty maybe they should start looking to suspend players that make hits like that. I still can not believe they named him a captain of the team!
Its Detroit, Think about it........and i'm from MI lol Not a football guy but I do believe that if they can fine and suspend people in hockey for minor stuff why not every sport? In hockey high hit is 15 k and 3 games.
Absolutely. I cannot stand that man and how much they show him during games; although it's never for anything good.
read the freep.com story; he says he "talked it out" w/ the Viking's center on the low block; he says they are "good." I can see that play for what he says it was - he was trying to hit him in the thigh/waist area (it was not from behind; his entire head and shoulder hit in the front part of #65's lower leg.) Anyone w/o Suh's rep would be given benefit of the doubt. I admit he does play borderline stupid sometimes, (couldn't believe he wasn't called for roughing passer at the end of the game which would have been huge) and he will forever have that stomping thing hanging over his head. If it wasn't for that stomp I think he'd get a lot less press as being dirty.
Can't argue he isn't dirty, can't argue making a player like that the captain shows team's true colors. To do either shows lack of intelligence by person making the case.
He is a very dirty player... However I still don't know if the nut shot was on purpose if so that man is talented
He should be removed from the league. He won't be because he can make big plays and makes lots of money but how many other players in the league have had this many issues. The nut shot was totally legit. He may not have known where exactly he was going to land, but he definitely cleated that guy, on purpose.
A lot of those fat Offensive Lineman are dirty as all hell and cut block him all the time. I don't agree with him chop blocking that guy in the knee like that, but I understand why he may have done it. That being said, a chop block like that should warrant a player getting ejected from a game and fined.
Ok I am not defending the guy I am a true lions fan in my opinion hes not dirty he does these thing in the wide open hes not trying to hide it I think he has a very bad temper and needs to get it under control if not I agree with some of you suspend him a news games.as far as the hit this past game it was low but with the new rules about staying away from the head players are going to be getting hit lower all the time
Hey Brett, looks like a little anger left over from an All State linebacker...I would imagine you were cut a time or two as well
Yes, he does have a very bad temper and he's been getting it under control for years, with no success. If it were my league, he'd be playing in Canada. He's going to get someone seriously injured.
Maybe I still have a little emotion left over. I try not to these days. I have been dealing with a left knee injury and lingering pain for 4 months now that I attribute to some chicken a receiver that cut blocked me my senior year in college. He put his helmet on the outside of my left knee right when I planted it to make a tackle on the incoming rb. Tore my mcl really good.
$100k??? that's insane. He didn't hit from behind, and the guy was closest to the ball carrier and was making an attempt to pursue. If Suh doesn't block the guy, and he tackles the ball carrier, everyone would be complaining that he makes a billion dollars a year and is too lazy to block for his teammates. Was Suh low? Maybe a little. His helmet is level with the guy's waist, his shoulders make contact first at the knee. The rule states blocking below the waist is a penalty; but offensive linemen do it on every down. It's a judgement call. But, there was no clear intent to injure, and it happened between the whistles; not after like all Suh's other nonsense. That was a football play. He hits 3" higher and there isn't even a penalty called; much less a fine levied. I can barely watch pro football anymore. Might as well be the NBA.
Even ex players are saying he should have been suspended. Looks like you are a fan of his and are looking at this with blinders on.
Not particularly a fan of his; I am a Lions fan but am not a homer. I watched the replay dozens of times; and what I said is fact- he hit the guy from the front, at the knees to the waist. Suh's shoulders are probably about 40" wide with pads on. In the proverbial "game of inches," he was about 2-3" too low. It was a marginal call. I'm not arguing the penalty; as I said it could've gone either way. The fine, on the other hand, is BS. The fines have to do with intent to injure; which in this case (not justifying some of his other shenanigans) there is no evidence of. To show I am not a homer, here's this: near the end of the game, the refs should have called Suh for roughing the passer, which would have given the Vikes 1st and (appx) goal and a breath of life with about 45 secs left. He sent Ponder to the ground w/ a 2-arm shove at least 3 steps after Ponder got rid of the ball. It was clearly roughing, totally unnecessary, and should have been called. With 2 refs assigned to watch the QB at all times, you can't tell me the refs didn't see it and weren't giving him a pass for some reason; which indicates to me they were maybe giving him a freebie for the earlier call. If anyone is getting the benefit of the doubt it isn't Suh.
He is a hell of a player...just gets carried away. Reminds me of Randy Moss. Drama Queen. A Non-Prostaffer posting from my Samsung Galaxy s4
Football is getting soft!!!!! You want the guy to be vicious and hit people, but you want him to play patty cake when he does it. This is why pro ball sucks. He didn't have that many Episodes at Nebraska. Either way, he is one of the best d lineman of all time, and u can't argue that!!!! But I'm a die hard NU fan so I'm biased.
