It appears that the time is now then, as after week 1 TEN of the Top 25 are SEC teams, including the entire SEC West...

If only my Kitty Cats could play in the B1G, we'd be bowl eligible annually vs bottom dwellers... I digress though.

Why are so many here assuming beating #5 Mich St will be a "cake walk" for the Buckeyes? OSU had close calls last year vs Big 10 teams which were not highly ranked or ranked at all if I remember correctly.

OSU has three legit Hesiman trophy candidates
    Cardale
    Miller
    Zeke
They have a fourth, but he's the second string QB

You are trying to hard and just look like a sour grapes hater. Take a moment to look back on the BCS results you are speaking of. tOSU has more BCS bowl victories than any other team.

I am in no way boasting, just pointing out you "look" ridiculous hating with inaccurate statements.

Still think it's funny you are a converted Alabama fan.

I'm not sure what your definition of "meat and potatoes" football is? But, the SEC won 7 championships in a row by playing hardnosed, ground and pound football. They controlled the line of scrimmage, ran the ball, and stopped the run better than any other conference.

The SEC is built on chicken and shrimp, the BIG10 is built on meat and potatoes. Just trying to be clever, I didn't realize it would be scrutinized so much lol. Not once did I say they weren't big or couldn't control the line, but they were known for their speed, at least their fans always made sure to let us know about it. I was simply referring to location. Sheesh, everyone is so touchy, I guess we need to sign interpretation clauses just to make a post anymore.

LOL. I lived 40 minutes from Bryant Denny Stadium for the past 4 years of my life. It's hard to not start liking them.

It'd be like me moving to Columbus as a neutral football fan, think I'd start rooting for the Wolverines out of nowhere?

Buckeye, I just point out the Buckeyes shortcomings for a while because it gets under the skin of the fans. I hate OSU, but obviously realize they are a top 5 program all time and will be top 5 as long as Meyer remains. Hope they lose by 50 this year in the playoffs, but I won't be holding my breath.

"re-emergence to relevance"?? ...and on your last post: we'll be "top five as long as Meyer remains"?? lol... Let me take a second to educate you, son

Under Tressel (2001-2010): 1 NC, 7 top-five finishes, never raked below 20th and won more BCS Bowl games than any other program (still & always will hold that honor).

Bammer, In that same time period: 1 NC, which was their ONLY top-five finish ('09, Tressel's final season -also, Bama's onlyBCS Bowl victory), 2 BCS Bowl appearances and FIVE unranked.... wait, let me say that again..... five UNRANKED..... seasons.

But that's none of my business.. :whip:

You're right, finishing somewhere in the top 25 every year is FAR better than winning 3 out of 4 NCs. Ask any casual observer of football that is not a fan of either team which one has had a better decade of football...

And you keep comparing the two programs as if I take personal offense to digs at Bama. I enjoy watching them currently. I take no pride in their history. I don't follow their recruiting. I just enjoy tailgating there and following their games. I think it's pretty clear Saban is the best coach in the country. Once he is gone, they will slip back into mediocrity again I'm sure.

That is the game I'm most interested in seeing the outcome of. That and OU and Tennessee.

But the SEC is so big and fast and dominant. This can't be!

Well Jacksonville State was close, Auburn should drop a few from that one.

Auburn almost had an Appalachian State moment there! I was really hoping for the upset. Fun to watch surprise games like that for sure.

It's tough to see B1G upsets anymore... When only 2 teams are worth a darn the odds of seeing one go WAY down. :poke:

Anyone predicting Sparty over the Ducks? I'd love to see that happen, and as much as I hate Tennessee I'd kind of like to see them put away Oklahoma.

And on the Auburn game, how on EARTH does that QB take a sack on 3rd down there at the end?! He had like 4 different opportunities to throw it away.

You can tell the Buckeyes are tired from the Monday night game, their playing slow and making lots of mental mistakes. Short weeks are no excuse for mental mistakes. I'm still loving what Miller is doing, both with and without the ball. He's had some excellent blocks.

The bucks are lucky that they aren't playing a better team with an offense or they would be getting waxed today.

I have had enough of the cute playcalls the last two weeks. The Oline has not played a decent game yet since Wariner took over as o coordinator. Maybe he can't be both.
